Brent Marinan is an award-winning Senior Lecturer in Business Analytics with 12 years at a Research 1 university teaching programming, statistics, and marketing research. He holds three master's degrees (MIS, Statistics, Marketing), a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Cybersecurity certificate. His background spans international business operations, data science, and education.
He built CAIRNEXUS to address a gap he observed in higher education — designed with both pedagogical depth and enterprise-grade security in mind.
The name CAIRNEXUS comes from cairn — a trail marker that guides the way — and nexus — a point of connection. It was also inspired by his cairn terrier, whose relentless curiosity mirrors what the platform does: fetch the connections that others miss.
